Changes made to Appendix 2, February 2012.
Please note that the following species have been removed from Appendix 2.
- Green-winged Teal
- Ring-necked Duck
- Smew
- Red-necked Grebe
- Black-necked Grebe
- Buff-breasted Sandpiper
- Long-tailed Skua
- Little Auk
- Red-breasted Flycatcher
Sightings of these species will no longer be recorded in the monthly Provisional List after December 31, 2011.
These changes are the fourth set of revisions to be applied to the Appendices since the IRBC changed its method of record submission and assessment in January 2005. For a full account of the background and reasons for the new reporting system click here. The IRBC will continue to periodically review the list of species included in both lists.
